Rackspace Technology®, a leading end-to-end, multicloud technology solutions company, announced insurance solution provider Auto & General Southeast Asia (SEA) increased site speed by 60%, optimised application performance, and enhanced security of its cloud infrastructure by deploying Rackspace Managed Services on Cloudflare.

Auto & General SEA is a subsidiary of an international insurance conglomerate that serves millions of policyholders on four continents. The wider group, based in the British Isles, generates more than $2 billion in yearly revenue, with a particular concentration on digital operations. Budget Direct Insurance Singapore and EasyCompare Thailand are two of the Auto & General SEA brands.

To maintain PCI compliance, the organisation needed a cost-effective solution and a collaborative managed services partner that could install rigorous security measures. Furthermore, the security solution has to guard against cyber threats while also adhering to strict insurance sector compliance rules without impacting site performance.

Auto & General SEA partnered with Rackspace Technology to implement Rackspace Managed Services on Cloudflare, allowing them to quickly deploy the most up-to-date security capabilities to battle emerging cyber threats, meet security requirements, and seamlessly transition to a security solution. Auto & General SEA implemented an Edge Security solution that featured a web application firewall (WAF), DDoS protection, DNS services, and a worldwide content delivery network, thanks to Rackspace Managed Services on Cloudflare (CDN).

“Website performance was optimised with CDN and DNS services that allowed dynamic content acceleration, static content caching, and image optimisation. For example, code minification reduced the amount of code and markup on web pages and script files which in turn, reduced load times and bandwidth usage, and improved the overall end-user experience,” said Sandeep Bhargava, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director APJ for Rackspace Technology. “In addition, real-time analysis is enabled through high-level access to dashboards, and malicious traffic is blocked before it reaches the web application, resulting in lower web server utilisation costs and reduced bandwidth consumption.”
