Increased complexity resulting in cyberattack is a key market challenge

The emergence of technologies such as cloud computing and big data analytics demands the construction of data center facilities worldwide. The popularity of social media and the IoT has resulted in the need for data centres to store and process information accurately with fast retrieval times.

These are some of the findings from Research and Markets’ latest offering, "Data Center Security: Global Market Research Report 2015-2019".

Further, the report states that the open infrastructure of the Internet, has raised privacy and security risks, as cyber-attacks can destroy critical business data and damage the physical infrastructure of the data centre.

The report covers the current scenario and the growth prospects of the global data centre security market for 2015-2019. To calculate the market size, the report considers revenue generated from installation of logical and physical security infrastructure.

The report finds that the migration of appliances and legacy sensors to TCP/IP and convergence of the IP network is boosting the integration of both logical and physical security.
In addition, video surveillance cameras have become IP-based and card readers use IP networks. However, logical security devices are not adequate for the physical monitoring of the facility.
