Visier Expands to APAC with Major Customer Win: 7-Eleven Malaysia

Visier, the globally recognised leader in people analytics and workforce solutions for people-powered businesses, officially celebrated its expansion into the Asia Pacific region with the opening of a regional headquarters in Singapore. In addition, Visier announced a major customer win in the region with 7-Eleven, the largest convenience store chain in Malaysia. Visier provides on-demand answers to people-powered businesses through their innovative technology solutions.

Founded in 2010, Visier has over 25,000 customers in 75 countries around the world, including enterprises like BASF, Bridgestone, eBay, Ford, Merck KGaA, and more. With a satellite office in Australia, Visier is headquartered in Vancouver, BC with offices and team members worldwide.

With the country’s policies changing, followed by the rapid growth of countless organisations, human resource management can no longer rely on instincts alone. This is where people analytics tools come into play: they collect and use hard data to help companies understand the big picture, guide them with the right strategies, and produce better results.

Ryan Wong, the CEO and co-founder of Visier, shared, “Businesses in the Asia Pacific region are expanding quickly, and they have a particular need to comprehend their diverse and distributed workforce. Visier’s regional expansion is just getting started, and we think there is huge potential for the company to grow throughout APAC and Malaysia. Our major win in Malaysia with 7-Eleven is a testament to the potential demand for people analytics in the region.”

In Malaysia, 7-Eleven is the first and largest company operating 24-hour convenience stores. The group has a unique franchising programme as the company passed the 1,000-store network milestone and as of 2023, 7-Eleven has expanded to more than 2500 outlets with over 10,000 employees.

Utilising people analytics to increase talent retention, productivity and effectiveness
According to a survey done on local businesses, Malaysian employers are finding it difficult to hold onto their best employees because most professionals anticipate compensation increases in reaction to the growing cost of living. This has caused companies to be concerned about talent scarcity in their specific sectors, along with retention issues.

7-Eleven experienced considerable employee turnover as its workforce grew. The group was managing their HR records manually and the HR Department found this process to be extremely time-consuming. This is where Visier aims to assist in improving the group’s data management by reducing intense workload and managing the workforce for their outlet expansions as well as internal mobility.

“For us, it is an opportunity to understand our employees better,” said Lim Yong Long, Senior Manager (People & Culture) at 7-Eleven Malaysia. “We are especially ecstatic about Visier’s potential to simplify processes in our organisation and improve efficiency by having real-time information about our employees at our fingertips.”

Visier aims to be the go-to people analytics solution to drive impact and bring results using people insights through their products: Visier People, Visier Cloud, Visier Embedded Analytics, and Alpine by Visier, the company’s platform-as-a-service offering. Visier boasts a variety of features in one platform, from talent acquisition insights and learning analytics to talent retention and workforce planning.

“We want to catalyse the adoption of people analytics in the APAC region,” said Terrence Yong, Visier’s VP and General Manager of APAC. “We see a very bright future ahead for people analytics , and that’s where Visier comes in. I’m excited to be a part of Visier’s growth in this region, and I look forward to building Visier’s brand presence to the next level.”
