Revolutionising the Indonesian Market with MyRepublic

With the wave of digital transformation pressuring businesses to adapt their operations, costs can run up if such initiatives are done incorrectly or with bad planning. The demand for connectivity has also increased, translating into higher demand for infrastructure that can handle the heavy demands of a more connected population.

Thanks to MyRepublic Indonesia’s three W business focus (Winning Strategy, Winning Concept, and Winning Team and System), they were able to move towards a cloud-based system while cutting back on costs as well as rapidly expand throughout the country and covering 21 cities, all in one year.

These efforts have bagged both the Cloud Initiative of the Year - Indonesia Award and the Infrastructure Initiative of the Year - Indonesia Award at the 2023 Asian Telecom Awards as the cherry on top for their efforts. The awards programme recognises the efforts and feats of telecommunications companies in innovating ways to succeed and bridging gaps within a challenging market environment.

Saving on IT costs with well-executed cloud migration strategies
MyRepublic Indonesia recognises the need for the best technology partner during their digital transformation and cloud technology adoption, arriving at the use of Google Cloud to accelerate the process. Migration of SAP into Google Cloud has reduced costs by 50% while simultaneously improving network performance and growth for the company.

An improvement in network latency and responsiveness of the SAP application has been observed as a result of the move to Google Cloud, alongside the ease of vertical scaling provided by the platform that allows for capacity scaling on demand in a cloud environment.

Since moving to Google Cloud, the need to maintain physical infrastructure, servers, hardware, and software that required frequent upgrades has been eliminated. Upgrading within the cloud environment will also take up fewer resources and time.

Due to this, the company is looking towards migrating business operations and support systems to Google Cloud to improve the company's delivery of digital services to customers and partners. The use of machine learning for predictive analysis using real-time data is also being considered to support business decision-making and improve operational results during the company’s cloud migration.

The platform also offers data security, which is a prominent feature in Google Cloud, providing the company with the ability to better control access to the system and use end-to-end encryption securely.

More detailed and customisable reports based on user needs are also available to MyRepublic since their adoption of cloud technology, allowing for better insights thanks to the platform’s compliance with data and information security requirements. The company obtained ISO certifications such as ISO 27001:2013 (Information Security Management System) and ISO 20000-1:2018 (Information Technology - Service Management System) from this compliance.

Cloud computing has helped the company in reducing its carbon footprint and pushing them towards a more sustainable working environment and a greener culture. The company has also experienced positive growth and is looking to continue to add more cloud initiatives into its operations in the future.

MyRepublic ramps up coverage with more infrastructure
Aiming to provide the best internet services for residential, small, and medium businesses, MyRepublic set out to uncover breakthroughs, namely in business process automation, end-to-end integrated data management, funnel and market analysis for expansion, and project team welfare.

Working towards building infrastructure that can cover an increasing number of houses and high-rise buildings, the company carefully studied areas for implementation and fine-tuned plans respective of economic, population, and technical perspectives that dictated project requirements. MyRepublic also designed faster and more efficient processes to help the expansion efforts run smoothly, using in-house data platforms to assist with New Roll-Out Projects.

By 2022, MyRepublic has expanded its network to 500K new homes, more than 1.5 times the number of homes covered compared to the previous year. Plans to cover more homes in 40 new cities are being considered as the company aims to build bigger and better infrastructure in the coming years.
