Quest Software, announced its participation in the Veeam Alliance Partner Program. Quest QoreStor, Quest’s software-defined secondary storage platform with deduplication technology, has also been verified as a Veeam Ready Repository. Through the use of QoreStor, businesses have the ability to accelerate their Veeam backups, reduce backup storage requirements, and assist users in safely leveraging the cloud.
Through QoreStor, IT admins making use of Veeam Backup & Replication are enabled to speed up backups via protocol accelerators, as well as reduce storage through variable block deduplication and compression. Organizations also have the ability to shorten replication time and combat inconsistent WAN connections, while leveraging the cloud for archiving and disaster recovery via the platform’s replication technology.
In a press statement, Executive Director of R&D and Product Management at Quest Data Protection, Mark D’Apice said, “with today’s growth in data, it is critically important to ensure all data is safely stored and backed up to not only meet regulatory requirements, but to ensure business continuity. With QoreStor, IT organizations can lower data protection costs and maximize ROI by leveraging practically any storage hardware, backup software, virtualization platform, and cloud provider. Now verified for Veeam, it perfectly compliments any Veeam environment and helps IT teams complete backups faster, reduce storage costs, and replicate to the cloud in a quick and safe manner.”
As a software-defined secondary storage platform, QoreStor enables businesses to reduce replication time, enhance data security, and address compliance requirements. In addition to this, QoreStor Rapid Data Access (RDA) drivers, which are installable on Veeam backup servers and Veeam backup proxies, provide support for Windows and Linux that allow for source side deduplication, encryption, and WAN resiliency. RDA is part of the QoreStor license, which is critical to a Veeam QoreStor Repository implementation.
