NAKIVO Releases v9 with Support for Physical Windows Server Backup

NAKIVO Inc., a fast-growing software company dedicated to protecting virtualized and cloud environments, announced the release of NAKIVO Backup & Replication v9.

The new version adds support for Microsoft Windows Server backup, allowing customers to protect physical, virtual, and cloud environments from a single pane of glass.

Application-Consistent Backup
NAKIVO Backup & Replication v9 can now perform incremental, application-aware backups of physical Microsoft Windows Servers. The solution provides application-consistent backups of business-critical applications and databases running on physical Windows Server machines, including Microsoft Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, Active Directory, and Oracle.

Global Data Deduplication
Physical machine backups can be stored in a regular backup repository, along with backups of VMs and AWS EC2 instances. All backups in a backup repository can be automatically deduplicated, regardless of the platform, so that only unique data blocks are saved. This can dramatically reduce the amount of storage space used by physical machine backups.

Instant Granular Recovery
NAKIVO Backup & Replication v9 can instantly recover files, folders, and Microsoft application objects (Exchange, Active Directory, and SQL) directly from deduplicated physical machine backups. Additionally, customers can use the Universal Application Object Recovery feature to instantly recover objects from any other applications.

Physical to Virtual (P2V)
In addition to instantly recovering files, folders, and application objects from physical machine backups, customers can also restore physical Windows Server backups to VMware and Hyper-V VMs.

Per-Machine Licensing
Starting at just $17 per machine/year, NAKIVO offers a simple, unique, and cost-effective per-machine subscription. A single per-machine license can cover either a physical machine, VMware VM, Hyper-V VM, Nutanix AHV VM, or AWS EC2 instance. This gives customers the opportunity to remove vendor locks and move their workloads freely between platforms without having to change their data protection licensing.

“NAKIVO Backup & Replication v9 enables our customers to not only protect their business critical workloads across virtual and cloud environments, but now also physical Windows Server systems,” said Bruce Talley, CEO of NAKIVO Inc. “Now our customers who have physical or mixed environments can protect their critical business data from a single pane of glass.”
