NetPod promises high fidelity network visibility

The proliferation of data on enterprise networks continues to increase with the rising demand for such technologies as virtualisation, software-defined networking, and high-performance computing, as well as a growing dependency on mobility across the workforce. Couple this with a sophisticated cyber attack landscape, and it’s all IT can do to keep up with network activity.
 
Emulex and Dynatrace have collaborated to release NetPod combining Dynatrace’s Data Centre (DC RUM) analysis with Emulex’s EndaceProbe Intelligent Network Recorders (INR). NetPod provides network teams with high-fidelity network and application transaction-level visibility and long-term packet storage. NetPod hardware-based EndaceProbe INRs provide 100 percent packet capture, nanosecond time stamping, and “back-in-time” playback capabilities, as well as a platform for user experience monitoring. NetPod enables optimisation of the performance, scalability and predictability of all applications in the data centre, including Citrix, SAP, Oracle, Siebel, and Microsoft Exchange.
 
NetPod is designed for high-speed 10/40/100Gb Ethernet networks to provide full visibility across multiple tiers, infrastructure components and web and non-web applications. It monitors and records real-time application transactions across the most complex application delivery infrastructures spanning all leading load balancers, firewalls, servers, WAN accelerators, and middleware.

All of this simplifies the delivery of mission-critical, network-centric applications and increases the business value of these applications by ensuring their availability to end users.”
