Zadara Storage Strong Momentum Accelerates with Record 2016 Results

Zadara Storage announced record revenue in 2016, and records in almost every category of growth. The company’s continued success shows the excellent alignment between the market requirement for OpEx-based, flexible storage solutions and the Zadara Storage Cloud Enterprise Storage-as-a-Service Solution. Market research has estimated that the storage-as-a-service market will grow from about 16 percent of the overall storage market in 2016, to at least 80 percent by 2023 (source: IT Brand Pulse, October 2016). Zadara Storage addresses this fast market transition by providing a unique and disruptive storage solution that is available in any location (cloud, on-premise and hybrid), supporting any data type (block, file and object), and connecting to any protocol (FC, iSCSI, iSER, NFS, CIFS, S3 and Swift).

According to Nelson Nahum, CEO and Co-Founder of Zadara Storage, “Market demand for enterprise storage-as-a-service was exceptional in 2016. It is clear that the market is making a dramatic transition from traditional CapEx-based storage to flexible, scalable, elastic OpEx-based Storage-as-a-Service, and Zadara Storage is well-positioned to satisfy this demand.”

2016 highlights included:

Zadara Storage increased its expansion rate vs. 2015, with continued exponential sales growth of more than 2.5x (3-year CAGR). Zadara International (non-US) sales also grew 4 times Year-over-Year (YoY). On top of that, Zadara Storage average revenue per customer grew 42 percent Year-over-Year (YoY). Zadara On-Premise-as-a-Service (OPaaS) offering grew to 40 percent of overall recurring revenue.

Zadara’s efficient business model enabled the company to continue its rapid growth while keeping headcount essentially flat. Zadara Storage expanded globally into Russia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Brazil, and the Philippines, among other locations.

Zadara Storage introduced key new functionality in 2016, including ZIOS™ Object Storage, Fibre Channel support, Large Flash Cache, and the Zadara “Cube” – a self-provisioning storage-as-a-service array available directly from the AWS marketplace. Revenues for the Zadara Cube more than doubled each month since its introduction in June.

The company also took the industry-leading position of announcing SSD storage services that are priced below HDD storage services and expanded its multi-cloud capability by adding Google Cloud Platform to the existing list of AWS, Microsoft Azure and other supported cloud service providers.

Zadara Storage continued to be recognised for its innovation and leadership by receiving 12 new awards and accolades, including TechTarget/Storage Magazine Product of the Year, Red Herring Top 100, Flash Memory Summit Best of Show, IT Brand Pulse Market Leader (5 categories), IT Brand Pulse “Industry First” for On-Premise as-a-Service, Entrepreneur 360, and Cloud Computing Backup and DR award.
