Retrospect claims 100 percent backup and restore speeds with new upgrade

Backup vendor Retrospect the latest update to its Windows and Mac backup software, Retrospect 10 for Windows and 12 for Mac, offers a number of improvements including boosting backup speeds by up to 100 percent.
 
The vendor also claims it has improved data grooming and backup set transfers providing more effective storage usage, while enhancing email summaries, real-time progress updates for intensive operations. It also claims a new backup-detail hover function on the Retrospect Dashboard offer more in-depth monitoring of backups.
 
The company has also added native 64-bit Linux support, certification for Microsoft SQL Server 2014, and strengthened its resilience against network hiccups.

Retrospect 10 for Windows and 12 for Mac meet this challenge by consistently improving core technologies every year,” said Matt Johnson, Retrospect’s Vice President of Sales.
