Storage pureplay, Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) announced it is working with consulting and integration vendor, Infosys, to accelerate customer migration to private cloud. Based on the Hitachi Unified Compute Platform (UCP) Select for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010. HDS claims the UCP solution also runs Microsoft SharePoint applications.
The Hitachi UCP solution provides converged infrastructure solutions that are pre-validated for mission-critical workloads, simplifying private cloud deployments.
Under the terms of the agreement HDS and Infosys will develop joint architectures, technical training and certification programs. The two companies will also conduct collaborative sales and marketing activities worldwide. These activities will enable HDS and Infosys to provide their global customers with agile and tailored enterprise-class cloud solutions that enable faster cloud deployments with far less risk. Both vendors believe the collaboration will enable the two organizations to offer in-premise cloud and third-party data center hosting with scalabilities of up to 96,000 mailboxes with high availability through Mailbox Availability Group (DAG), N+1 server failover and enterprise-class RAID protection.
